Emma and Joel ~ Old St Pauls ~ The Wellesley

Yesterday Olivia and I had the pleasure of photographing Emma and Joel’s wedding at Old St Pauls Church in Wellington. Their reception was at the gorgeous Wellesley Hotel, in central Wellington.

The day was so fun and so relaxed, and the wedding party was great. Emma and Joel took my advice around planning their day, which you can find here, which made the day run so smoothly and really helped us create some great images for them. We had an hour with the girls after they were all dressed, half an hour with the guys, as well as some time in the evening when the light’s at its best. Because of that, plus of course Emma and Joel being such a fun couple, these are some of the best photos we’ve ever taken!

Scott & Alex ~ Waverley ~ Taranaki

Scott and Alex were married on Alex’s parents farm just outside of Waverley in Taranaki on a beautiful summers day this past Saturday. We had some amazing locations for photos, and with such a fun couple and wedding party the photos have come out fantastic! Yvette and Jonathan

Yvette and Jono were married on a fine and windy Sunday here in Wellington, with their ceremony at Old St Pauls and their reception at The Boat Shed. We had a great day taking photos all around Wellington with Yvette, Jono, and their really fun wedding party, and we have awesome photos for them. We had a chance to duck out onto the waterfront for 15 minutes in the evening too, for a few more romantic images.

Last Minute Packages

As we do every summer we’ve just released our last minute wedding photography packages for January and February. That means for dates we’re not already booked you can get a great deal on packages smaller than we usually offer, with prices starting at $1500 instead of our usual $2795.

These packages do cost more per hour than our standard packages, this is because gear preparation time, location research, and travel time don’t decrease just because we spend less time taking photos. The bottom line is you pay less for the same great photos!

How to plan your day for great photos

Wedding days aren’t about photos, but everyone wants great photos to help remember their wedding day. The wedding day is one of the few times in their lives most people have their photo taken by a professional, so you should make the most of it! You need to balance time spent with your family and friends with time spent on photos, but in twenty years which will you value more? An hour spent with your family, or an hour making amazing images that will last forever.
