It's a Big Deal to your clients

Posted by tim on June 22nd, 2010

I'm a member of the Digital Wedding Forum, an international group of photographers who share experience, ideas, encouragement, help educate each other, and help each other out. Some of the most well known wedding photographers in the world are on the DWF, and it's amazing to be able to learn from the best in the field every day, from the comfort of my office! As well as educational videos, forums, and conferences, the DWF has a blog which has some interesting articles.

I recently read an article called It's a Big Deal to your Clients. The gist of it is even if I photograph one or two weddings a week in summer it shouldn't just be "a day at the office" for me. It's someone special day, a day they've been thinking about, planning, and dreaming about for years, and the photographer should be giving 100%

This is why I go into every wedding the same way I would expect a photographer to go into my own wedding: well rested, motivated, fully prepared, and trying to take the best photos of my career. You deserve nothing less than my best!

Jack ~ The Jack Russell Terrier

Posted by tim on June 13th, 2010

Late last year I photographed "Captain Jack Sparrow", my friends Jack Russell Terrier puppy, as a gift for her fiancée (now husband). Anyone who's owned a Jack Russell Terrier will know that these dogs just don't stop moving! Around half of the photos were thrown away because in the split second between when I framed the photo and hit the shutter he'd moved about three feet! I was laying on the ground holding a camera, with remote triggered lights, Jack thought that was a great game and that both the camera and the photographer were fun to lick!

We spend about an hour taking photos of Jack, he had a great time with so many people paying him attention, playing with him, feeding him, and we even managed to take some photos while we were entertaining him! Here are a few of my favorites.

Rosie & Mike ~ St Peters & Pauls Lower Hutt ~ Tea Gardens

Posted by tim on May 5th, 2010

Rosie and Mike were married on a slightly rainy but otherwise fantastic Saturday at St Peter and Pauls Catholic Church in Lower Hutt, with their reception at the Tea Gardens at the old museum. The whole day was just fantastic, everyone was happy and having a great time, and we managed to dodge the rain to get some fantastic photos. Here are some of my favorites from their wedding day.

New prices and packages

Posted by tim on March 12th, 2010

It's been a few years since we modified our prices or packages, since then our costs have risen significantly, so last night we sat down and made some changes. Prices have gone up a little, but all our albums now come with your choice of cover, including leather, and are available in matted or magazine style for no extra charge. Our top package now includes two photographers, and the mid-range packages include one photographer and an assistant.

Anyone who's already sent an inquiry through has a week from today to book at the old prices, otherwise the new package prices apply. All new inquiries are at our new prices, which are still great value for one of the best photographers in Wellington!

As always we're happy to create custom packages to suit you, and last minute packages are available, so if you don't see what you like just give us a call!
