This morning we had the More FM Wellington Running of the Brides, and what a stunning day it was! There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, but it was cool enough that the girls in their dresses didn’t melt! Fifteen determined brides to be took part, but one had to win.

I’m excited to announce that I’m going to Sydney in early November for a two day hands on workshop with one of the worlds best and most highly awarded wedding photographers, Yervant – you know he’s good when he only uses one name! Yervant has a unique art/fashion style of wedding photography, turning out images at every wedding that would fit perfectly into high end wedding magazines. I’m looking forward to sharing ideas with one of the world’s best, and maybe including some of his thoughts and techniques into my own way of doing things!

I’m excited to tell everyone that i’m going to be involved with the More FM “Running of the Brides” this year, a fun event with an amazing prize. First a little about the event, in their words
“To win you’ll need to race against 60 other women along the Wellington waterfront on Sunday the 20th of September (registrations are at 10am and the race should take no more than an hour). There will be obstacles and you must be wearing a wedding dress and veil!”
The prize for this is quite amazing: a complete wedding, all expenses paid, valued at approximately $50,000! The wedding will be on Friday the 2nd of October, giving the couple two weeks to get their family and friends there, with all the organisation done it should be relatively stress free! Ohariu Farm, one of my favorite wedding venues in Wellington, is providing the wedding venue and a reception for 40 guests. Norfolk Island are providing a seven night luxury stay, including all flights. Other sponsors are providing the wedding dress, suits, shoes, transport, and everything else needed for a wedding. I’m providing a package valued approximately $5,000, including all the photography and a beautiful custom made wedding album to help them remember their magical wedding day.

Paula & Stephen were married at the beautiful Bracken Ridge on a chilly but sunny winters day. They put my assistant Olivia and I up in a two bedroom cottage the night before the wedding, a much appreciated gesture that made our day much easier, and I can recommend the cottages for a relaxing break! The rain held off long enough for some photos in the vineyards and the wine cellar at Palliser Estate, the whole day was fantastic and a lot of fun for everyone.
We received a lovely and very much appreciated note from Paula and Stephen after the wedding. My favourite part of the note says “The photos look amazing, we had so much fun the whole day. You made us feel so relaxed and special, it certainly was our best day ever. We loved working with you, love your work, and you come highly recommended from us”. It was great taking your photos guys, and thanks again for the note!
