About Us

Tim Wild is the creative eye behind Wild Photography, with Olivia and Stu as second photographer and assistant. Tim’s interest in photography began during his OE in 2001, living and working in Dublin, travelling to anywhere budget airlines would take him. When he came home a few years later he continued learning the art and the science of photography, and photographed weddings for some new friends he met through photographing theater. The results were fantastic and he had a great time, so Tim set up Wild Photography and never looked back. Since then Tim’s photographed over 100 weddings, all over Wellington, the Wairarapa, and the lower North Island.

Tim aims to be as unobtrusive as possible, a fly on the wall for most of the day, but on the wedding day is part organizer, part clown and jester, but is always friendly and professional. He’s always happy to give guidance, make suggestions, and arrange or pose people when it’s needed. Neither formal nor photo-journalistic, Tim’s style is casual and all his own, influenced by the greats of the wedding photography world. Tim can pose traditionally if requested, but in general keeps things fun, informal, and makes great images without ever seeming to pose. With so much experience Tim is cool under pressure, always ready with a helping hand, a joke, whatever it takes to make people comfortable and help them enjoy their wedding day.

Tim regularly attends seminars and workshops with the best wedding photographers in the world, often travelling overseas to help improve his skills. He’s a member of the NZIPP, the Institute of Professional Photographers, which is dedicated to help professional wedding photographers in New Zealand learn and grow.

When he’s not working you’ll find Tim playing badminton or hiking through a forest, painting his house, throwing a bbq for friends and family, or out taking photos for fun.
